White House ballroom construction proceeds
The legal battle over the massive construction project has entered a new phase as the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals seeks clarity on the scope of the work.
President Trump has argued that the gilded ballroom is necessary for his safety and the security of visiting foreign dignitaries.
However, critics contend that the project requires congressional approval and is an inappropriate use of executive power.
The court has given the administration until April 17 to provide detailed plans, while allowing builders to remain on-site for another week.
