Geelong fined $140,000 over concussion waiver

The Australian Football League has handed Geelong a $140,000 fine for not lodging a contract variation with Jake Kolodjashnij, related to a concussion waiver.

The Cats were found to have breached AFL rules regarding the documentation of concussion-related agreements with players.

The fine is one of the largest ever issued by the AFL for a procedural breach of this nature.

The league has been under increased scrutiny over its handling of concussion cases and player safety.
