Roblox Overhauls Child Safety

In its most significant safety overhaul to date, Roblox has announced the launch of specialized accounts for younger users.

Starting in June, the platform will categorize users into three distinct tiers: Roblox Kids for ages 5-8, Roblox Select for ages 9-15, and a standard tier for those 16 and older.

The company will utilize facial-estimation technology to verify ages and restrict access to certain chat features and complex games.

The move comes as several countries, including Australia and Greece, consider strict age limits for social media and gaming platforms.
