28 Dead in China Shoe Factory Fire
The blaze broke out on Thursday in Jinjiang, Fujian province, and quickly spread through the factory, killing 28 workers.
More than 500 firefighters and rescue personnel were dispatched to contain the inferno.
President Xi Jinping expressed concern over the repeated occurrence of deadly workplace accidents and demanded strict accountability.
The incident is one of the deadliest industrial fires in China in recent years.
