Trump Accounts App Launches
The U.S. Treasury Department has debuted the 'Trump Accounts' mobile application, the centerpiece of a new federal investment program for American children.
The initiative provides a $1,000 initial government deposit for every child born during President Trump's second term, which can then be managed by parents in tax-preferred accounts.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced that over 6 million children have already been enrolled in the program ahead of the official launch.
While the administration touts it as a way to build generational wealth, critics have raised concerns about the long-term fiscal impact and the branding of the accounts.
