Kenya Blocks US Ebola Unit

A Kenyan high court has suspended plans for the United States to establish an Ebola quarantine facility in the country.

The court order follows a legal challenge by activists who raised concerns over the lack of transparency and public participation in the deal.

The proposed 50-bed facility at a Kenyan air base was intended to isolate Americans exposed to the virus during the ongoing outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Critics argue the project could expose the local public to grave health risks and accused the government of bypassing constitutional oversight.
