Spain Wildfire Death Toll Rises
A devastating wildfire in Spain's Almería province has killed 13 people, including a British woman, and scorched 6,600 hectares of land, forcing widespread evacuations.
A 70-year-old British survivor, Malcolm Timbrell, described taking refuge in an abandoned car with his cat while his wife and friends are feared dead after trying to walk through the firewall.
Spain's prime minister flew over the aftermath and pushed for a national climate change agreement, warning that 'the climate emergency is worsening' as extreme heat, wind, and drought conditions fuel the blazes.
The fire is now reportedly stabilised, but the search for the missing continues.
