I Am Maximus wins Grand National
The victory marks a landmark achievement for trainer Willie Mullins, who has now won three consecutive editions of the race, equaling a record set in the 1950s.
The event was not without incident, as three horses fell and required veterinary assessment, while jockey Robbie Dunne was taken to the hospital following a fall.
One punter reportedly won £900,000 after placing a massive £100,000 bet on the winner.
Despite the triumph, the race took place amid renewed calls from animal welfare advocates and Green Party leader Zack Polanski to ban the sport entirely.
