Jury finds Live Nation monopoly

The jury deliberated for four days before finding Live Nation liable for violating federal and state antitrust laws by using its market dominance to stifle competition.

Dozens of U.S. states joined the lawsuit, alleging that the company’s practices led to inflated ticket prices and poor service for consumers.

While the verdict establishes liability, a judge will now determine the appropriate remedies, which may include heavy monetary penalties or the divestiture of Ticketmaster.

Industry experts suggest this ruling could fundamentally reshape the economics of the live music business for years to come.
