Artemis II Launches Lunar Voyage

The historic Artemis II mission lifted off from Kennedy Space Center, carrying three Americans and one Canadian on a 10-day journey around the moon.

This flight represents a pivotal step in NASA's long-term goal of establishing a sustainable presence on the lunar surface and eventually reaching Mars.

While the crew will not land on the moon, they will travel farther from Earth than any humans since the Apollo 17 mission in 1972.

The mission serves as a critical validation of the Space Launch System rocket and the Orion spacecraft's life-support capabilities.
