Drake's Ice Sculpture Melted
The twenty-five-foot-tall installation, designed to tease the release date of the album 'Iceman,' drew hundreds of people to the city's downtown core.
Officials decided to melt the frozen blocks after fans began using blowtorches and heavy tools to break apart the ice, creating a significant public safety hazard.
Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow supported the decision, noting that while the city welcomes creative promotions, fan behavior had become untenable.
The incident follows a recent explosion during a Drake music video shoot that also drew criticism from local residents.
