Three Firefighters Killed in Colorado-Utah Wildfires

Three firefighters were killed and two more were injured while battling wildfires on the Utah-Colorado border.

The U.S. Wildland Fire Service said the crews were responding to the Knowles and Gore fires when the deaths occurred on Saturday.

Interior Secretary Doug Burgum confirmed the fatalities and praised the fallen firefighters.

Wildfire activity in the western United States has intensified as the region grapples with extreme heat and dry conditions.
