Hantavirus cruise ship barbecue
Passengers on the hantavirus-stricken MV Hondius have claimed that crew members held a 'big barbecue' as if nothing had happened, even after three deaths were reported.
The allegations have sparked fury among guests who say social distancing measures were not implemented until days later.
Video footage from the ship shows the captain initially informing passengers that the first death was due to 'natural causes' and was not infectious.
This perceived lack of transparency has led to a breakdown in trust between the passengers and the ship's operator, Oceanwide Expeditions.
As the vessel heads for Tenerife, many on board remain in isolation in their cabins, fearful of further spread of the deadly virus.
