ESPN founder Bill Rasmussen dies at 93

Bill Rasmussen, who co-founded ESPN in 1979 after being fired from a public relations job, died Tuesday at 93 from the effects of Parkinson's disease.

He was known as the 'father of sports television.' Rasmussen and his son came up with the idea for an all-sports network while stuck in traffic.

ESPN paid tribute to him as a 'visionary and an innovator,' and the sports world mourned his passing.
