Queen Elizabeth II memorial unveiled

King Charles and Queen Camilla have unveiled the final masterplan for 'Queen Elizabeth II Place,' a new commemorative space near The Mall.

The memorial is inspired by a famous 1955 portrait and will include a statue of Prince Philip standing a few paces behind his wife.

The project also features a new charitable foundation dedicated to the causes the late Queen supported during her 70-year reign.

The announcement comes as the royal family leads a series of events across the UK to honor the legacy of Britain's longest-serving sovereign.
