Mexican Mafia crackdown in California

A sweeping federal indictment has charged 43 individuals linked to the Mexican Mafia's criminal network in Orange County.

The pre-dawn raids, announced by FBI Director Kash Patel, uncovered a 'sinister web' of control that turned local neighborhoods into violent crime zones.

Charges include racketeering, robbery, and the distribution of methamphetamine and fentanyl.

Officials say the takedown is a significant blow to the organization's leadership, which has exerted tremendous control over both street gangs and prison populations for decades.
