Israel and Lebanon Extend Ceasefire

A tenuous 10-day ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah has been extended by an additional three weeks after diplomatic interventions by the Trump administration.

The agreement followed meetings in the Oval Office between the Israeli and Lebanese ambassadors, which the President described as 'historic' and highly productive.

The U.S. is pushing for a permanent resolution that would involve the disarmament of Hezbollah and the withdrawal of Israeli forces from southern Lebanon.

However, the situation remains volatile as both sides report continued violations and the maritime blockade of the Strait of Hormuz persists.
