Meta Layoffs Hit 8,000 Employees

An internal memo from Chief People Officer Janelle Gale confirmed the cuts and the closing of 6,000 additional open roles.

This decision comes as the tech giant faces a 'white-collar bloodbath' across the sector, with Microsoft also offering voluntary buyouts to thousands of its US workers.

Meta intends to use the savings to fund the development of advanced AI models and the construction of massive data centers.
