Mexico Seeks Charges Over ICE Killing

The killing of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents has prompted Mexico to announce it will seek criminal charges in the United States.

The victim's son said his father would have stopped if he had known they were ICE agents, and a US lawmaker confirmed the man was not the target of the operation.

The shooting has drawn fresh scrutiny to ICE's practices, with activists renewing demands to disband the agency.

Mexico's government says it will also pursue legal action over the deaths of 17 other Mexican nationals in US custody or during ICE operations.
