New York Times Fights Trump Subpoenas on Air Force One

The New York Times filed a motion to quash federal grand jury subpoenas served on three of its journalists over their reporting on security concerns with the new Qatari-donated Air Force One.

The case escalates a major press freedom battle between the White House and the media.

The newspaper’s top lawyer, David McCraw, said the government was trying to force reporters to identify their sources.

The Times asked the court to make its filing public, arguing the subpoenas are an unconstitutional attack on the First Amendment.
