Sawe breaks marathon world record

Kenyan runner Sabastian Sawe has shattered the men's world record at the London Marathon, becoming the first person to finish a competitive 26.2-mile race in under two hours.

Sawe crossed the finish line in 1:59:30, beating the previous record by 65 seconds.

The historic feat has sparked a debate over the role of 'super shoes', specifically the 97-gram Adidas Adizero Adios Pro Evo 3 he wore.

Sawe is expected to earn over $1 million in prize money and sponsorship bonuses for the performance.
