Ebola Outbreak Spreads to Fourth Congo Province

A deadly Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo has spread to a fourth province, with 360 deaths and over 1,200 confirmed cases.

The entire northeast of the country, home to 15 million people, is now affected, with local health facilities and NGOs overwhelmed by the 'cascade of deaths' and a shortage of resources.

In a rare moment of hope, the city of Beni celebrated its first documented Ebola survivor as a new treatment center prepares to open.

Neighboring Uganda has outlined comprehensive prevention measures along its border with the DRC to stop the virus from spreading further.
