Israeli strike kills Lebanese journalist

Amal Khalil, a 42-year-old reporter for the Al-Akhbar newspaper, was killed when an Israeli missile struck a house where she had taken shelter.

Rescue workers reported being fired upon by Israeli forces while attempting to reach the building, leaving Khalil trapped under rubble for hours.

The incident occurred during the deadliest day of the conflict since a fragile ceasefire was established last week.

Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam has accused Israel of intentionally targeting members of the press to obscure its military conduct.
