Rugby Australia reports record profit

Following years of financial struggle, Rugby Australia's latest accounts show the organization is now on a sustainable footing.

CEO Phil Waugh credited the 'Lions effect' for the record profit, which has injected much-needed capital ahead of Australia hosting the men's and women's World Cups.

The surplus will be used to clear existing debts and invest in grassroots development and the national high-performance program.

Waugh warned that while the result is a significant milestone, the sport must remain disciplined to ensure long-term growth.
