Artemis II crew returns home

NASA’s Artemis II crew, consisting of Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen, received a hero’s welcome at Ellington Field after completing the first crewed lunar flyby in over 50 years.

The mission tested the Orion spacecraft’s capabilities and set a new distance record for crewed space travel, surpassing the Apollo 13 mission.

Upon their return, the astronauts expressed profound gratitude and reflected on the emotional impact of seeing Earth from the lunar far side.

This successful test flight paves the way for the Artemis III mission, which aims to land the first woman and person of colour on the lunar surface.
