EU unblocks €90B loan for Ukraine

EU unblocks €90B loan for Ukraine

The European Union is set to finalize a critical financial support package for Kyiv, which had been stalled for months due to political friction with Hungary.

The resumption of oil deliveries to Hungary and Slovakia via the Druzhba pipeline provided the necessary leverage to overcome the impasse.

EU officials indicate that the loan will support Ukraine's military and economic stability through 2027.

Additionally, the bloc is preparing to adopt a 20th package of sanctions against Russia as part of the broader agreement.
