US-Iran Talks Yield 60-Day Peace Roadmap

The US and Iran have made encouraging progress in high-level talks in Switzerland, with Washington announcing a 60-day waiver on oil sanctions and Tehran saying $12 billion in frozen assets will be released.

Vice President JD Vance said the negotiations laid a good foundation for a deal to end the war, while Iran's top negotiator Mohammad Ghalibaf confirmed technical talks concluded successfully.

The deal includes a roadmap for a Lebanon ceasefire, plans for international nuclear inspections, and a proposed $300 billion reconstruction fund, though Trump faces questions from Republicans.

Oil prices have fallen to their lowest since early March on the peace hopes.
