Vessel seized near UAE

A commercial vessel, identified as a Chinese-owned floating armory, has been seized by Iranian naval forces northeast of Fujairah.

The ship was reportedly taken into Iranian territorial waters, adding to a series of maritime incidents that have crippled trade through the Strait of Hormuz.

This seizure follows the sinking of another cargo vessel off the coast of Oman, further destabilizing global energy markets.

The United Arab Emirates has responded by accelerating construction of a pipeline to bypass the strait, as regional tensions between the U.S. and Iran show no signs of abating.
