Stars and Stripes staffers sue Pentagon over firings

Three former employees of Stars and Stripes, the US military's independent news outlet, have filed a lawsuit against the Pentagon and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.

The dismissed publisher, editor-in-chief, and Middle East reporter allege their terminations were unlawful and constituted retaliation for their journalism.

The lawsuit claims First Amendment violations and seeks to halt the firings.

The Pentagon, which provides partial funding for the outlet, terminated the staffers last week.
