Stonewall Pride Flag Restored

Stonewall Pride Flag Restored

In a rare reversal, federal officials have committed to flying the rainbow flag at the site of the modern gay rights movement's birth.

The removal of the flag earlier this year sparked widespread outrage and a legal challenge from historic preservation and LGBTQ+ advocacy groups.

The settlement ensures the flag will once again fly on a federal flagpole at the monument in Greenwich Village.

Advocates described the move as a major victory for visibility and a necessary retreat by the Republican administration.
