Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and President Donald Trump signed the framework last year, and the new commitment marks the next step in its implementation.
Resources Minister Madeleine King stated that Australia is taking a global lead in developing rare earth refineries and processing facilities.
The projects are seen as vital for the production of everything from smartphones to advanced military hardware.
This move comes as both nations look to secure their industrial independence amid growing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and Asia.
