Swalwell faces sexual assault investigation

Representative Eric Swalwell's political career is in freefall following a series of bombshell sexual misconduct allegations that have prompted a formal investigation by Manhattan prosecutors.

The allegations include claims of assault in a New York hotel room and inappropriate conduct with several former female employees.

Swalwell has firmly denied all accusations, describing them as politically motivated, but has already lost the endorsements of all 21 of his Democratic colleagues in Congress.

House Republicans are now preparing a motion to expel him from the chamber as pressure mounts for him to withdraw from the California gubernatorial race.
