Infantino seeks fourth FIFA term

FIFA President Gianni Infantino has officially announced his intention to stand for a fourth term in the upcoming 2027 election.

The announcement was made during the 76th FIFA Congress in Vancouver, where Infantino also attempted to broker a symbolic handshake between Israeli and Palestinian soccer officials.

While Infantino remains a dominant figure in global sports governance, his attempt at peacemaking backfired as Palestinian representatives refused to stand next to their Israeli counterparts.

The 2027 election, which Infantino is widely expected to win, will be hosted by Morocco.
