Jet2 Pilot Suffers Heart Attack

Flight LS1266, carrying 220 passengers, was forced to make an unscheduled stop in Porto, Portugal, following a mid-air medical emergency.

The pilot became unresponsive while the aircraft was cruising at 30,000 feet, prompting the co-pilot to take control and initiate a rapid descent.

Passengers described a scene of 'chaos' as crew members searched the cabin for anyone with medical training to assist the stricken captain.

The pilot was rushed to a local hospital upon landing, and an alternate crew was arranged to fly the remaining passengers to their destination in Birmingham.
