Anthropic acquires Fractional AI

The acquisition is part of a broader strategy by Anthropic to move beyond model development and into direct enterprise services, backed by major investors including Blackstone and Hellman & Friedman.

Fractional AI specializes in helping companies integrate large language models into their existing workflows, a capability Anthropic views as critical for its next phase of growth.

The deal comes as Anthropic is reportedly nearing its first profitable quarter, with revenue projected to hit $10.9 billion this year.

The company is also in talks to rent custom AI chips from Microsoft to reduce its reliance on Nvidia's hardware.
