UK to ban smoking for youth

Britain is set to implement some of the world's toughest anti-smoking laws after the Tobacco and Vapes Bill cleared its final hurdles in Parliament.

The legislation makes it a criminal offense to sell tobacco products to anyone currently aged 17 or younger, a ban that will remain in place for their entire lives.

Health Secretary Wes Streeting hailed the move as a 'historic moment' that will save thousands of lives and reduce the long-term burden on the NHS. The bill also introduces new regulations on vaping to protect young people from nicotine addiction.
