Lockerbie bombing trial postponed

A federal judge postponed the US trial of a Libyan man charged in the 1988 bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland.

The trial was postponed days before it was set to start.

The Boeing 747 exploded minutes after takeoff from London on December 21, 1988, killing all 259 people on board and 11 people on the ground.

The defendant is accused of building the bomb that brought down the aircraft.
