After months of legal wrangling, The Onion has secured an agreement to license and operate Infowars from its court-appointed manager.

The satirical site aims to turn the conspiracy-fueled platform into a vehicle for social commentary and humor, with comedian Tim Heidecker expected to play a key role.

Alex Jones has decried the move as an attempt to 'steal his identity' and silence his voice.

The deal still requires final approval from a Texas judge before the relaunch can proceed.
