Artemis II passes lunar halfway point
The Orion spacecraft is currently on a looping trajectory that will carry astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen approximately 10,300 kilometers beyond the far side of the moon.
This mission marks the first time in over 50 years that humans have traveled toward the lunar surface, testing critical life-support systems for future landings.
Crew members reported being in 'great spirits' and have maintained regular communication with mission control in Houston.
The mission is expected to break the distance record for human spaceflight previously held by the Apollo 13 crew.
