The Onion to acquire Infowars

The Onion's bid to acquire Infowars has entered a new phase with a proposal to license the intellectual property from the court-appointed manager.

If approved by a Texas judge, the move would effectively end Alex Jones' control over the brand he built through conspiracy theories.

The Onion's CEO, Ben Collins, stated the goal is to provide some justice for the Sandy Hook families who won a $1 billion defamation judgment against Jones.

Comedian Tim Heidecker is reportedly involved in the project to relaunch the site as a satirical platform.
