Meta to cut 8,000 jobs
In its latest round of significant layoffs, Meta is preparing to let go of thousands of workers as it pivots its strategy toward AI-driven growth.
Chief People Officer Janelle Gale informed staff that the reductions will take place on May 20, with the company also closing 6,000 open job listings.
The move follows similar workforce reductions at Microsoft and Nike, signaling a broader trend of 'employee replacement' in the tech sector.
