Jim Furyk named Ryder Cup captain

Jim Furyk has been officially named the United States captain for the 2027 Ryder Cup, which will be held at Adare Manor in Ireland.

Furyk, a veteran of nine Ryder Cup teams as a player, previously captained the U.S. squad in 2018.

The PGA of America selected Furyk after 15-time major winner Tiger Woods withdrew his name from consideration for the role.

Furyk will be tasked with securing the first American victory on European soil in over three decades.
