NASA Details Moon Base Roadmap

NASA has released new details for its 'Artemis Base Camp,' a permanent outpost intended to serve as humanity's first long-term settlement on another world.

The agency has awarded hundreds of millions of dollars in contracts to four US companies to develop the necessary infrastructure, including hopping drones and pressurized rovers.

The first phase of the mission will focus on the lunar South Pole, where researchers hope to harvest water ice from permanently shadowed craters.

NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman stated that the base will eventually serve as a laboratory for future human missions to Mars.
