OpenAI plans $1.5B PE venture

Seeking to expand its enterprise footprint, OpenAI is negotiating a massive partnership with leading private equity groups to create a new entity tentatively named 'DeployCo.' This venture would focus on integrating artificial intelligence into diverse industries, from retail to manufacturing, within the PE firms' holdings.

Simultaneously, OpenAI is unveiling 'Codex,' a suite of AI tools designed to automate software development and identifying cybersecurity vulnerabilities.

These moves come as CEO Sam Altman faces ongoing legal challenges from Elon Musk over the company's profit-driven direction.
