UK Heatwave Deaths Top 2,700

More than 2,700 excess deaths in England and Wales have been attributed to the unprecedented May and June heatwaves, according to researchers from Imperial College London and the Met Office.

The heatwave saw temperatures reach 35.1°C in May and 37.7°C in June, shattering records and prompting health alerts.
