Palestine Action protest leads to arrests

Hundreds of demonstrators gathered in central London to protest the government's proscription of Palestine Action, a group known for its direct action against arms manufacturers.

The Metropolitan Police carried out 212 arrests as activists unfurled banners and held placards in support of the banned organization.

The ages of those detained range from 27 to 82, with several elderly protesters being carried away by officers.

This protest follows a High Court ruling that the group's ban was unlawful, though police maintain that the current demonstration violated public order laws.
