Péter Magyar Ousts Viktor Orbán

Hungary's 16-year era of rule under Viktor Orbán has come to an end following a landslide victory by Péter Magyar and his center-right Tisza party.

Magyar, a former Orbán loyalist turned opposition leader, secured a supermajority and has promised to immediately begin democratic reforms.

The result is seen as a major setback for the global far-right movement and allies of Donald Trump.

Magyar also signaled a shift in foreign policy, indicating he would no longer block EU aid to Ukraine.
