Artemis II crew returns home

NASA's Artemis II crew has received a hero's welcome following their historic 700,000-mile voyage.

The mission, which included the first woman and first person of color to fly to the vicinity of the moon, achieved all its technical objectives and provided unprecedented views of the lunar far side.

While the homecoming is being celebrated as a triumph for space exploration, NASA officials are already focusing on the more complex challenges of the upcoming Artemis III mission.

The agency plans to land astronauts on the lunar surface in 2028, a feat not accomplished since the Apollo era.
