Fragile US-Iran ceasefire faces collapse
The eleventh-hour ceasefire, brokered by Pakistan, was intended to halt six weeks of intense aerial bombardment and prevent a wider regional conflagration.
However, the agreement is being tested by continued Israeli strikes in Lebanon and Iran's subsequent refusal to fully reopen the strategic Strait of Hormuz.
President Trump has maintained that the deal does not cover Lebanon, while Iranian officials insist that the cessation of attacks on Hezbollah was a core condition of the pause.
Diplomatic delegations led by Vice President JD Vance are preparing for high-level talks in Islamabad to salvage the agreement before the 14-day window expires.
