Ian Huntley Inquest Suspended

The formal inquest into the death of notorious child killer Ian Huntley has been suspended by a coroner in Newcastle.

The decision follows the charging of a fellow inmate, Anthony Russell, with Huntley's murder.

Huntley died in March from a blunt head injury sustained during an alleged attack with a metal bar at HMP Frankland in County Durham.

The inquest proceedings will remain on hold until the conclusion of the criminal trial against Russell, who is scheduled to appear in court for a plea hearing next month.
